Welcome to SBC Home Church!
Paul’s focus and purpose of life is undeniable in his letter to the church in Philippi and it’s that same focus and purpose that he wanted the recipients to possess as well. Paul took them directly to Jesus, teaching them that Christ is life, Christ is the model, Christ is the goal, and He is our contentment. Paul poured out his life as an offering for the sake of Christ, leading him to find great joy and contentment in Christ’s service. This letter to the Philippians has shown us here in the valley that by centering their lives on Christ, we too, might live in true joy.
Our prayer for today’s passage is that we clearly see Paul’s love for the church and how we are to always be in community.

(Parents – While watching the sermon, encourage your children to draw a picture of what they hear Pete talk about the most. For younger kids write “SAINTS” in block letters for them to color and use for discussion later.)

Discuss the Word
- Since starting the book of Philippians, what has stood out the most to you? Explain. (Parents, share what stood out to you, then ask your kids, “What was something you enjoyed learning about while we studied Philippians”?)
- What did you learn about God in today’s verses? (Take time to discuss what your kids drew during the message.)
- Paul continues to teach us about community. How are you practicing community during this season? (What are some ways you are connecting with your friends during this time? How can you connect with them even more?)
- Discipleship never ends. It’s a lifelong commitment. Who are you discipling? Who is discipling you? (Parents, take time to talk about what discipleship means with your kids. Then ask them, “Who do you feel is discipling you and how can you disciple someone else?)
- What is one thing you have learned from Paul’s letter and how are you applying it to your life? (Parents, share what you have learned then ask your kids, “What is something you have learned that is helping you to be more like Jesus?”)
Practice The Word
- Take Action: Philippians 4:21 says “Greet every saint in Christ Jesus.” This week, call five people and ask the following questions:
- How is God working in your life during this time?
- How has God blessed you during this time?
- How can I pray for you?
Pray The Word
- Pray Ephesians 4:7 “But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” That we would live daily with the Grace that was offered to us.

Ways to Give
Giving of our finances is a response of worship to God who created us, saved us, and is continually at work in the lives of each of His children to reflect more and more of the character of Jesus Christ. Giving is an opportunity to respond to the gospel of Christ in a way that we can find our hearts freed to reflect the generous heart of God.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8 “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.”
