Welcome to week three of SBC home church. For the next several weeks we are going to be going through the book of Philippians together. Our hope is that you will still take time on Sundays to stop and worship the Lord by yourself, with your family, or in whatever context you may be. We will be providing you weekly with resources to help you do just that. This week we are going to look at Philippians 1:1-11 and what we will see in this introduction is how intentional Paul is in his writings. We will see here how he points his readers to Jesus and His Gospel.
Before reading through the passage, if you’re able, ask someone to open in prayer.
Parents – Ask a child/student to open up in prayer.
Read the text Philippians 1:1-11
Parents – Give your kids paper and something to color with. Ask them to draw what Pastor Pete is talking about. Feel free to pause the video and ask questions to engage your kids.

The Gospel has transformed Paul and the people in Philippi. Do you believe the gospel changes people? Why or why not?
(Does God change people? Parents share how the gospel has changed your life.)
How have you not trusted God in our current circumstance?
(When things are hard, who do you go to? Parents share a time when you didn’t trust in God.)
What prayer of thanksgiving can you offer for your church today?
(How can we pray for our friends and family at church today?)
How can you encourage someone in his or her walk this week?
